Before the World Cup final on Sunday, the PIN Bureau asked sources to share their Team U.S.A. pride and what they saw as the game’s significance for the country.
Michi Vojta shared her passion for the Women’s World Cup. Vojta is an avid world traveler for soccer and even spent time watching the 1994 Men’s World Cup while she was serving in the Peace Corp in Kenya, though she rarely opens her television cabinet at any other time.
“I have watched almost every game in the World Cups for years,” Vojta said. “And in fact, that is how my daughter 4 years ago found out there was a television in the house.”
Vojta attended the Women’s World Cup in 1999, as seen below.
She has also tried to instill her love for soccer in her daughter, Metta, as seen in photos taken in June 2010 and June 2015.
